As a highly recognised Production Sound Mixer with over 20 years' experience, Yellow brings expertise in both location and field sound recording and mixing, for international co-productions and Chinese films. His name appears on end credits of acclaimed Hollywood movies like Her and Looper. Apart from films, he also has extensive experience in documentaries and often collaborates with industry leading productions like the BBC Studios, Plimsoll Productions and more.
Beyond his work on set, Yellow founded "NotYetSound" (声理未声) in 2024, a prominent Chinese independent media brand focusing on advancing industry knowledge and experience sharing and equipment distribution. He's not only deeply committed to the art and technology of sound, but also an active advocate for the significance of location sound and field sound recording.
Driven by a profound passion, he launched a podcast channel "EverSound" (声久村) in 2018. This innovative project shifts the focus entirely to auditory perception and the pure essence of sound, marking a new chapter in his exploration of audio mediums.
Yellow speaks Chinese Mandarin and English. He co-translated the book Behind the Sound Cart: A Veteran's Guide to Sound on the Set by Patrushkha Mierzwa and introduced it to Chinese sound professionals.
